Italian fashion label Stone Island inked a multi-year deal with New Balance in 2021, resulting in several hit collaborations spanning lifestyle and performance footwear. However, the duo has yet to tackle the sport of skateboarding. A few months after the New Balance 998 Made in USA, Stone Island teased its first New Balance Numeric project.
Though the teaser doesn’t provide much to work with, early images of a New Balance Numeric 272 done up by Stone Island Marina have been floating online for months. These early images show the low-top vulcanized rubber skate shoe clad in white hues across its suede and synthetic upper. N logos on the midfoot are tonal, while the Stone Island Marina text on the heel tab is royal blue. Finishing touches include the Stone Island Marina-branded tongue, a co-branded yellow insole, and a tonal rubber midsole and outsole.
The Stone Island x New Balance Numeric 272 will release sometime in the coming weeks through Stone Island and possibly via select New Balance Numeric-affiliated skate shops.
