Introduced in 1976, the Vans Era (originally known as Style #95) was Vans’ first intentional step into the skateboarding world. The simple yet timeless design made these shoes an instant classic for skaters and non-skaters alike. No matter how you get from point A to B, these shoes can take you there in classic style.
Improving on the design of the Authentic, the Vans Era adds some much needed padding around the collar. These sneakers continue the minimal design of its predecessor by only improving what's necessary. The same canvas upper and vulcanized rubber soles complete the durable construction of the shoes.
As is the case for most Vans models, the Eras can be purchased at any Vans store or on their website. Large retailers and local skate shops will carry the shoes but for rare and exclusive colorways, check out smaller boutiques like WishATL and Dover Street Market.
Originally, the Vans Era only released in a two tone, red and navy colorway. Since its initial drop, the sneakers have been released in a vast array of colors and materials. There truly is no limit to what can be done to the Vans Era.
The Vans Era fits true-to-size. For those with a higher arch, we recommend inserts for maximum comfort. Though the sneakers were designed for skateboarding in the 1970s, we do not recommend them for modern skating. But that will likely make you want to skate them more.
Common colorways of the Vans Era restock frequently. They can be secured at large retailers and Vans' official site and stores. Rare and obscure pairs don't tend to restock often but can typically be found at small boutiques and skate shops on occasion. Satoshi and Vans continue a collab that started over the summer with a new pair of jewel-encrusted Eras. Find images and release info here.
To no surprise, the Vans Era has seen its fair share of collaborations. Outside of the usual Supreme and CDG collabs, other streetwear giants like Satoshi Nakamoto, Stray Rats and Neighborhood have left their impact on the silhouette. With versatile collabs from Disney to New York's MoMA, there's truly no limits to where the Vans Era may go next.

The Vans gemstone theme adds another Satoshi collab to the collection. Find images of the blue Satoshi Nakamoto Vans Era 95 here.
