New Balance has brought us back to the Y2K era, where blobjects, saturated colors, and futurist design language reigned supreme thanks to the New Balance ABZORB 2000. Typically, New Balance employs one of its many collaborators to help introduce these new models, though the brand let the 2000 speak for itself with the debut Baby Blue colorway. Of course, with such hype and energy surrounding the GR colorways of the sneaker, it was only inevitable we’d see outside partners bring their touch to the sneaker, the first being Joe Freshgoods.
Coming off of his Aged Well New Balance 992 Made in USA project that celebrated his five years as one of New Balance’s most prolific collaborators, Joe is applying his signature pink color palette to the ABZORB 2000. In the teaser post on Instagram, JFG’s NB 2000 is placed inside a matching pink Louis Vuitton bag, with one up-close shot revealing the title of the project, Everything Comes From Pink, atop the co-branded Joe Freshgoods and New Balance green insole.

Other details are visible in these early shots, including the updated JFG tongue tag branding replacing the NB logo, a semi-translucent rubber outsole, tonal pink mesh, and synthetic overlays on the upper. Below sits an ABZORB and ABZORB SBS-cushioned midsole, with both the foam and ABZORB SBS pods rendered in tonal pink hues. Expect to see more details from Joe in the coming weeks.
The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance ABZORB 2000 Everything Comes From Pink has no confirmed release date, but Joe’s caption seems to point to a Paris-exclusive release to coincide with Paris Fashion Week, which takes place June 24-29.
