Joe Freshgoods has solidified his position as a key collaborator for New Balance, bringing his distinct Chicago flair to the brand's iconic silhouettes. He's launching his latest 990v6 collection, featuring the Prom Blue and Paris Red colorways. Like most of his projects, this release is accompanied by a visually rich campaign showcasing the meaning and story behind the designs. Notably, a vintage car in the campaign video displays an Illinois license plate with "992 2025," hinting at his next venture with New Balance.
While this initial teaser outright gave away what Joe has in store for us in 2025, Sole Retriever can confirm that Joe Freshgoods will work on the New Balance 992 Made in USA. Reminiscent of his very first New Balance project, the NB 992 No Emotions Are Emotions, this new JFG 992 essentially is an updated version of Joe's aforementioned debut collaboration. The color palette here utilizes faded pastels that, when looked at side-by-side with his OG 992, appear to be an aged version of the sneaker. Some new details include his JFG logo applied to the tongue and a pink hue applied to the rear of the foam midsole.

The 992 model is gearing up for a major revival, with general release colorways and collaborations expected to flood the market throughout 2025. Last year, Teddy Santis, creative director of New Balance's Made in USA collection, hinted at the return of the 992 silhouette earlier this year. Though not confirmed, we will likely see another color of the 992 by Joe Freshgoods, though it would only be released via Joe Freshgoods’ shop.
The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 992 Made in USA Aged Well will release February 21, 2025, through Joe Freshgoods' website. A release via New Balance will take place on February 28, 2025. Available in men's sizing, the retial price is set at $220. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
