If you haven’t seen it already, the #bootsonlysummer trend has been appearing in everyone’s feeds on social media. TikTok and other platforms are full of people wearing their soccer cleats off the pitch, but whether this is fully organic or not, that’s another discussion. We know that brands are taking notes around this cleat trend, specifically adidas, which has prepped an off-the-pitch-ready version of its 2006 adidas F50 cleat.
Dubbed the adidas F50 Adiframe, the cleat from the mid-2000s is recreated with a synthetic upper and elastic closure, encapsulating the entire sneaker in a clear plastic TPU. Traditional branding details from the original cleat remain untouched, such as the wavy Three Stripes pattern on the midfoot, the Teamgeist logo on the tongue, and the adidas performance logo on the heel.

The boot's internals and tooling are also intact, though a clear plastic cage completely covers the outsole. Wearing cleated shoes off grass and turf is a recipe for disaster. One wrong turn or step, and you'll be twisting your ankle. To prevent this, the plastic has a rubberized outsole, featuring traction near the forefoot and heel.
The adidas F50 Adiframe Shock Pink will release in March 2026 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price has not been confirmed.
