Though the anniversary celebrations in the footwear world have primarily focused on Jordan Brand’s 40th birthday and the Nike Air Max 95’s 30th, another staple in Nike Inc.’s portfolio is celebrating its 40th in 2025 — the Nike Dunk. With this, The Swoosh has begun to revisit classic Dunk High colors that were part of the original Be True To Your School Collection, a marketing campaign and pack of OG Dunk High colorways from 1985 that tied into multiple NCAA programs. Following the footsteps of the Kentucky and Michigan Dunk Highs, the St. John’s Dunk High is getting a retro in 2025.
Like the other two OG Dunk Highs re-releasing this year, the St. John’s version sees a premium leather finish applied to the sneaker, starkly different from the cheaper leather used on standard GRs. The same colorblocking scheme is applied to the model, featuring gym red hues on the mudguard, eyelets, collar overlay, Swoosh, and sockliner. On the base sits white, visible on the toebox and midfoot. Finishing the design is the white rubber midsole and gym red rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High St. John’s will release in Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
