Anniversaries are being celebrated throughout 2025 over at Nike, including iconic silhouettes like the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Max 95. One pair that has been somewhat flying under the radar regarding its 40th birthday is the Dunk, launched in 1985 alongside the Air Jordan 1 as a performance basketball model. Harkening back to the days of the Be True To Your School collection, and following a retro of the Michigan colorway, The Swoosh has plans on bringing back another original colorway of the Dunk High in Fall 2025 — the Nike Dunk High Kentucky — which was last seen in 2016.
While recent retros from the original Be True To Your School pack—like the Kentucky Dunk Low, St. John’s, and Syracuse—offer remixed takes on the classic '80s NCAA-inspired colorways, this 2025 Dunk High stands out as a true 1:1 recreation of the OG Kentucky edition.

Premium leather details, something not so common today on the Dunk, wrap across the upper, seen in the timeless blue and white color palette of the Kentucky Wildcats. Blue hues envelop the leather on the mudguard, eyelets, heel, and Swoosh, while white takes over the toebox, midfoot, and collar. More of this two-tone look is applied on the lace set and tongue, which comes in blue and white, respectively. Underfoot sits a white rubber midsole and a blue rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High Kentucky will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150, a $20 increase from standard Dunk Highs due to the premium materials.
