Launched in 2015, the Nike LeBron 13 was built for explosiveness and speed, encapsulating LeBron's forceful playing style. Designed by Jason Petrie, this model highlighted advancements in both lockdown support and cushioning, allowing quick transitions and hard landings.

The LeBron 13 featured a breathable mesh upper with integrated Hyperposite material for lightweight support and dynamic Flywire cables for adaptive fit. The most significant innovation was the incorporation of Hexagonal Nike Zoom Air units that offered excellent impact protection and quick responses. This was the first time a LeBron shoe incorporated this Zoom Air setup, resulting in a more fine-tuned cushioning experience.

Notable colorways included the 'Written in the Stars' with a deep purple upper and multicolored speckle detailing, and the 'BHM' edition that celebrated Black History Month with intricate tribal patterns.
