LeBron 12 Release Dates

Jason Petrie and the Nike Sports Research Lab worked hand in hand to develop the technology needed in 2014 for the LeBron 12 (XII). It took Nike four years to produce the hexagon shaped Zoom Air units used in the LeBron 12, which strategically targeted pressure points on the foot. Nike also debuted their Megafuse technology on the upper, an upgraded version of Hyperfuse. Look through popular colorways of the LeBron 12s like the “What the LeBron”, “BHM”, and Akron PE here.

Unveiled in 2014, the Nike LeBron 12 was designed with a precise focus on LeBron's explosiveness and versatility. Jason Petrie remained at the helm of the design and introduced the Hexagonal Zoom Air cushioning system, which was specially designed to accommodate LeBron's explosive playing style.

The LeBron 12 featured a lightweight and breathable Megafuse upper with dynamic Flywire cables for adaptable support. Its outsole pattern was inspired by data from the Nike Sports Research Lab studying LeBron's movement, thereby enhancing multidirectional traction.

In terms of colorways, the 'NSRL' was inspired by Nike's research lab where the shoe was born, while the 'Data' colorway paid tribute to the scientific research behind its design. The '23 Chromosomes' colorway was a nod to human biology with its DNA-themed design. These thoughtful designs and performance upgrades were a testament to LeBron's athletic prowess and Nike's dedication to innovation.
