This launch not only celebrated the 10th anniversary of Air Max Day but also marked the debut of Nike's future-forward Air technology called Dynamic Air. Designed to offer a more dynamic heel-to-toe transition, the Air Max DN incorporates Dynamic Air, an innovation featuring a four-tubed Nike Air unit that fluidly shifts air pressure to different areas of the foot depending on the wearer's movements. The Dynamic Air technology is built on two pressurized chambers, each with two tubes, where air can freely flow between the tubes in each chamber, tuned with higher pressure in the heel (15 psi) and lower pressure in the forefoot (5 psi)​​​​.
