Food-themed sneakers have become one of the most common themes explored by footwear brands, but it’s even better when it's an officially licensed project. Just look at pairs like the Ben & Jerry's Nike SB Dunk or the project between Taco Bell and Crocs. Next up for Crocs, which has continued to rule as the king of collaborators in the footwear world, is a project with Krispy Kreme.
If, for some reason, you’re not familiar with Krispy Kreme, the doughnut shop has been around since 1937 and is famous for its fresh glazed doughnuts, which you have to stop for if you see the famous red neon light on when passing by. To honor the long-standing shop, Crocs has recreated the look of its top product and the store's colors on the Classic Clog. The Croslite foam upper is rendered in a golden brown hue with a glazed finish, mimicking the famous doughnuts.
Jibbitz charms nod to the doughnuts themselves as well as the red neon “Hot Now” sign found at all Krispy Kreme locations. Interchangeable toecaps, one in pink and another in chocolate, recreate the look of frosting and sprinkles. Other charms are found on the green sports mode strap, including the Krispy Kreme logo and more doughnuts. Finishing the Classic Clog is the Krispy Kreme logo stamped on the footbed and a tonal Croslite foam midsole and outsole.
