The Jordan Brand Classic Returns to D.C. in 2025

In a full-circle moment, the Jordan Brand Classic returns to Washington, D.C., where everything began. After first tipping off in 2002 at the then-MCI Center, this premier high school basketball showcase is back in the nation’s capital for its 2025 edition.
The Jordan Brand Classic has long been a proving ground for future stars, with alums like Carmelo Anthony, Maya Moore, and Zion Williamson once donning the Jumpman before launching into superstardom. This year’s event will again spotlight 60 of the country’s most elite high school seniors—both boys and girls—as they compete under the iconic Jumpman logo. The games will be live-streamed in partnership with the NBA.
Beyond the hardwood, the Classic empowers athletes with life skills and exposure far beyond the court. Participants will participate in development sessions at Howard University, covering financial literacy, college preparedness, and personal branding. NBA and Jordan Brand legends like Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, and Maya Moore, alongside financial educator Brandon Copeland, will offer invaluable insights to help these rising stars navigate life in and out of the spotlight.

The impact extends well into the community, with Jordan Brand’s Wings Scholars—students from across the country attending local colleges—receiving VIP access to the event, including a guided tour of the National Museum of African American History and Culture and exclusive programming with community leaders. Jordan Brand will also host a collaborative dinner with the museum, Howard University, UNCF, and Events D.C., reinforcing a commitment to long-term community relationships.
On Friday, the celebration continues at Sycamore & Oak, where 800 D.C. residents will enjoy a free community event filled with basketball, art, entertainment, and food. These families will also be invited to attend the Jordan Brand Classic games that evening, bridging neighborhoods to the arena and showcasing what it means to create a holistic, inclusive experience.
