Edison Chen Teases a CLOT x adidas Anthony Edwards Collaboration
Published
After transitioning from their decade-plus partnership with Nike, Edison Chen’s CLOT has been pumping out a slew of adidas projects. Chen’s design language has matured, infusing the East-meets-West motifs and traditional European footwear within classic adidas silhouettes, but what's really been missing is a project with one of the brand’s hottest divisions, adidas Basketball. CLOT is no stranger to working on performance basketball products, and it looks like they’ll be flexing this muscle again with Anthony Edwards’ signature sneaker line.
In a recent Instagram post, Edison Chen revealed a rendering of an insole that features Anthony Edwards’ signature logo on the left insole and CLOT’s logo on the right. Blue flame graphics are applied as well. With this just being a picture of an insole, we can’t be sure on exactly which model the duo will be tackling. However, considering the AE 1 is approaching the end of its lifecycle to make way for the AE 2, the latter is most likely the canvas on which they’ll work.

Going back to the early parts of 2024, just months after Edison Chen began the CLOT x adidas partnership, the founder was spotted wearing Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE 1 on multiple occasions. He attended a handful of Timberwolves games and was pictured hanging out with Ant-Man afterwards, fueling speculation that there was a project in the works between the two. Edwards has also been pictured wearing CLOT x adidas releases over the last year, making tunnel walks in the CLOT x adidas Superstar and CLOT x adidas Gazelle Silk.
As for when the CLOT x adidas Anthony Edwards project is hitting shelves, that remains a mystery at this point. Considering the photo is of a digital rendering, it’s likely this project is months out. We’ll keep you posted on any updates as they become available.
