Edison Chen Combines a Patchwork of adidas Projects on New Superstar Design

Since Edison Chen and his brand CLOT joined forces with adidas for an ongoing partnership, Chen has brought his wide range of inspiration and influence to the collaboration, with a strong focus on his Chinese heritage. In a new project meant to push the future while recognizing the past, Chen created a patchwork Superstar referencing previous work from the partnership.

The CLOT x adidas Superstar Patchwork is Chen’s interpretation of the traditional Chinese craft of "Baijia Bu" (hundred-family cloth) that weaves together patchwork fabrics symbolizing the convergence of diverse cultures and collective blessings. Using fabric left over from previous adidas collabs, Chen created a yin-yang style mismatch where orange panels on one shoe are reversed to green panels on the other, and vice versa. Additionally, the side panels feature plaid fabrics in varying shades, while the Three Stripes get a bit of exposed stitching.

We first saw this pair at the beginning of August, but with the backstory behind the design now made public, we figured it was time to revisit the “what the” style design ahead of release. In addition to the mismatched colors and varying fabrics, the shoe features hiking laces, plus CLOT x adidas branding on the tongue and above the Three Stripes.

The CLOT x adidas Superstar Patchwork will be released October 13, 2025 at JUICE’s Shanghai retail location, followed by a global release on October 17, 2025 through all JUICE Store channels.
