Ever since Edison Chen joined Team adidas, the Hong Kong-based designer has been responsible for some of the most unique-looking Three Stripes sneakers in recent memory. And just when you thought he might be slowing things down for the year, he returns with the CLOT x adidas Superstar Patchwork. Out of all of the Superstars that he's dropped over the past few months, this might just be his most distinctive creation yet.
Built atop a Wonder White mesh base, the first detail that jumps out is the forest green corduroy that wraps around the toebox. A Worn Sand houndstooth pattern hits the lateral heel, while a contrasting style of houndstooth adds even more texture near the forefoot. The Three Stripes arrive in beige tumbled leather, stitched on with visible seams for a tailored, almost handcrafted vibe. Bold orange nubuck dresses the eyelets, and this is complemented by co-branded detailing that's proudly stamped on the tongue – adidas' legendary Trefoil up top and CLOT's iconic monogram down below.
Two-toned hiking-style laces tie the whole thing together, but the ruggedness doesn’t stop there. Like previous Superstar collabs from the Chinese streetwear imprint, this pair is equipped with a toothy rubber midsole. This is designed to keep you on your feet at all times. The Patchwork is then packed in a special edition shoebox that was made exclusively for this drop.
At this point, it’s safe to say that Edison Chen has the Midas Touch, because every single silhouette he touches turns to solid gold. The CLOT x adidas Superstar Patchwork is scheduled to release in 2025 via Juiced stores, adidas and select retailers online and in-store. It'll be available in men’s sizing.
