Reebok Beatnik Release Dates

The Reebok Beatnik was designed by Nick O’Rorke and released in 1995, however, the hybrid slipper/sandal made its first appearance in Reebok’s 1994 Fall Outdoor line. Aside from the unusual open-heel, closed-toe upper, the Reebok Beatnik possessed a dual-compound sole that consisted of an EVA mold underfoot and a hard rubber outsole. The Beatnik wasn't released in Japan originally, however, the silhouette has experienced tremendous success in the country. Browse new colorways of the Reebok Beatnik here.

The Reebok Beatnik, with its distinctive design and superb comfort, offers a unique take on footwear. First introduced in the '90s, this sandal-like model has re-emerged in recent years, drawing attention for its unconventional aesthetics.

The Beatnik's quilted upper, adjustable straps, and high-quality materials like suede or corduroy contribute to its distinct appearance and function. Its design facilitates ventilation, essential for warm weather comfort. The Beatnik isn't merely functional, but it’s a conversation starter, owing to its nonconformist approach to footwear design.

Since its re-introduction, several popular iterations of the Beatnik have been released. The 'Sand Stone' and 'Core Black' colorways are standouts, showcasing the model's ability to look stunning in both minimalist and bold aesthetics. Furthermore, the collaboration with Pleasures, a Los Angeles-based streetwear brand, resulted in a punk-inspired, all-black Beatnik that pushes the boundaries of traditional footwear design. In summary, the Reebok Beatnik is for the bold, the rebellious, and the ones unafraid to defy conventions.
