Reebok Answer 1 Shoes

Reebok rewarded the Philadelphian phenom Allen Iverson with his second signature shoe, the Answer 1, by Scott Hewett in 1997. The Answer 1 needed to withstand the 6 foot guard’s unmatched speed, insane handles, and relentless finishing — Reebok covered all of AI's needs by incorporating their DMX cushioning, a podular air transfer system, instead of Hexalite. After the release of the Answer 1, the line would continue on, ending with the Answer 14. Review OG colorways of the Reebok Answer 1 here.

The Reebok Answer series, named after NBA legend Allen Iverson's nickname "The Answer," debuted in 1997 and immediately etched its place in the annals of basketball sneaker history. Iverson's game-changing agility and speed were mirrored in the innovative design of these shoes, which became synonymous with the player’s flamboyant style and performance.

Prominently featuring Reebok's patented DMX technology, a unique air-transfer cushioning system, the Answer series offered a smooth and responsive ride. The shoe's uppers often featured a blend of leather and synthetic materials, delivering not just robustness but a premium aesthetic. The enduring appeal of this series can be attributed to its bold, futuristic designs, encapsulating Iverson's dynamic gameplay and non-conformist personality.

Over the years, numerous colorways and versions have been released, each with its unique appeal. Notable iterations include the Reebok Answer IV in the "Georgetown" colorway, paying homage to Iverson's college career, and the striking red and white Reebok Answer IX. With the marriage of technology, style, and the spirit of an iconic player, the Reebok Answer series represents a significant milestone in basketball sneaker culture.
