Nike’s ever-evolving basketball line is taking the next steps into the future for 2026, thanks to the GT (Greater Than) line, building on Beaverton’s favorite in-line hoops series with two new silhouettes, the GT Future and GT Cut 4. We took a deep dive into the space-age inspiration behind the GT Future, and now, we’re getting new leaks of a bright red colorway of its counterpart, the GT Cut 4.
The latest early look at the GT Cut 4 is a two-tone red and navy combo, but more importantly, the first true matte colorway of the shoe we’ve seen yet. The colorway starts with university red wrapping around the lateral side past the heel and adds navy on the asymmetrical tongue and lace system that covers the medial side. The sockliner is black to match the tongue, with two-tone black and reflective laces. Nike Swooshes on both sides of the heel are done in iridescent shimmer, continuing the opal theme on early PE pairs of the new silhouette.

We got a first look at the Nike GT Cut 4 on the feet of Paige Bueckers at the WNBA All-Star game over the summer in an iridescent blue colorway. Nike unveiled the shoe in the fall, detailing the mixture of ZoomX and Air Zoom Strobel tech underfoot. In the weeks since, we’ve seen a couple more upcoming colorways, including a soft black velvet colorway and a Victor Wembanyama PE in another iridescent alien blend.
The Nike GT Cut 4 University Red will be released Spring 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200. For all the latest Nike basketball news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
