Nike Kyrie 2 Shoes
Leo Chang reappeared as the leading designer for the Kyrie 2 (II) that retailed in 2015. Chang needed to create a shoe that could contain Irving’s foot while allowing the star guard’s extraordinary movements; Chang found inspiration in motorcycles and their banking techniques, and applied those concepts to the shoe. The Kyrie 2 received a midfoot strap for security and a rounded outsole, giving Irving more angles to utilize when sizing up his opponents. Find out about the “Ky-rispy Kreme” Kyrie 2 and more here.
Building on the success of the first model, the Nike Kyrie 2 was introduced in 2015. Again designed by Leo Chang, the Kyrie 2 evolved to further suit Irving's swift and agile gameplay.
The Kyrie 2 featured an innovative curved outsole that wrapped up to the sidewalls, allowing for smooth transitions and rapid changes in direction. The shoe introduced a unique strap across the midfoot for added lockdown and stability.
In line with the Kyrie line's storytelling tradition, the shoe showcased details like the "H+H" (Hungry and Humble) inscription on the heel, the Roman numeral "II" on the tongue, and the jagged pattern on the strap inspired by the Sydney Opera House, nodding to Irving's Australian connection.
Originally retailing at $120, the resale value of the Kyrie 2 depends on the condition and specific colorway. Discover the Nike Kyrie 2's past and present on Sole Retriever today!
