Before Kobe Bryant launched his signature sneaker line with Nike in 2006, the Black Mamba was the face of the Eric Avar-designed Air Zoom Huarache line. We witnessed Kobe take the court in the 2K4 model plenty of times, most famously in the All-Star colorway, which is returning in 2026. Most of the time, Bryant was lacing up PE colorways or pairs that fit his Los Angeles Lakers unis, but there were plenty of inline variants the public had a shot at in ‘04 during the model’s original run. Joining the All-Star and Triple Black pairs next year is the original White Varsity Red rendition of the Zoom Huarache 2K4.
Designer Eric Avar, who worked with Bryant on virtually all of his sneakers, took inspiration from his Air Flight Huarache model and the Air Force 1 for the 2K4, fusing elements from the modern era with design language from the past. This specific colorway comes in classic Nike Basketball colors of white, varsity red, and black. Most of the upper is doused in a stark white shade, while black details appear on the mudguard, heel, and around the collar cutout. Pops of varsity red line the Swoosh and coat the Huarache logo on the tongue. Underfoot sits a black, red, and white sole unit with Zoom Air cushioning.
