The Jordan Future had a moment in the 20-teens. A hybrid model with shades of the Jordan 11 that brought a futuristic mesh upper to the mix, the Future was one of the few non-numbered Jordans to break through the mainstream. The model still has a shaky reputation among sneakerheads, but with a heavy dose of retro obsession lately, the Future is coming back to the market like Marty McFly, but this time as an almost unrecognizable summer-ready sandal.
The Jordan Future Mule is the latest performance sneaker to join the open-back slip-on trend. At Jordan alone, we’ve seen a women’s exclusive formal mule and remixes of the Air Jordan 1 into a lower-than-low top, while Nike’s latest Kids of Immigrants collab mules the T90, and adidas, Asics, and Puma have all added their own versions to the trend.

The Jordan Future Mule debuts in a Light Iron Ore grey monochrome colorway, drawing attention to the folded-over, stitched suede paneling on the half-shoe upper and the soft, wavy foam midsole. A slight lift on the heel panel locks the foot in, and subtle tonal Jordan branding on the top of the tongue panel brings it all together.
The Jordan Future Mule Light Iron Ore will be released Fall 2026 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $85. For all the latest mule hybrid news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
