Various moments in Michael Jordan’s historic career as a professional basketball player have informed colorways across the Air Jordan lineup. One of these was an exhibition game in Italy, where MJ shattered the backboard after taking flight, helping create one of the most sought-after modern-day colorways on the Air Jordan 1, the Shattered Backboard. Following multiple new iterations of the SBB AJ 1 and an upcoming retro of the colorway in 2025, Jordan Brand will transform it for the golf course with an Air Jordan 1 Golf Mule.
First introduced in 2024, the Jordan 1 Golf Mule takes the Air Jordan 1 Low Golf tooling and applies it to a slip-on, lace-less version. An array of OG colorways and new renditions of the AJ 1 has been used on the sneaker, like the Chicago, Bred, Shadow, and Royal, and this Shattered Backboard iteration continues the tradition. An all-leather construction is present, with starfish orange shades applied to the Jumpman logo on the tongue tag and the leather on the toebox and heel.
