Hot on the heels of the sneaker loafer hybrid hype, a new mash-up has taken hold across the market, with recognizable sneaker silhouettes suddenly showing up with sawed-off heels.

The latest beach-ready mule makeover comes from A$AP Rocky and Puma, whose latest collab pack transforms the Mostro 3D into its own spiked-out mule. Arriving in two colorways, black and gradient blue, the slip-on is a TPU monster with thick spikes on the toe, front side panel, and heel, with smaller spikes mixed in with perforations across the rest of the laceless slip-on.

The Puma Mostro’s Changing Shape

In addition to the new slip-on mule pack, the Puma Mostro has been one of the Big Cat’s most frequently altered silhouettes. Typically keeping its spiky theme, the Mostro has been worked on by multiple partners, including A$AP Rocky’s sportstyle dial security on a past pack, atmos Pink and Concepts’ Mary Janes, and Slam Jam’s velcro-strapped Mostro pack.
