To most of us sneaker obsessives, Edison Chen is best known for his work with CLOT and the brand’s never-ending collaborative success. In Hong Kong, though, Chen is a celebrity of a different status, with awards in China for his acting skills and musical releases. CLOT has established a reputation for its ability to blend Chen’s personal mix of Chinese and North American culture, and the brand’s latest silhouette with adidas is a perfect embodiment of that ethos.
The CLOT x adidas Qi Flow is named after the Cantonese word that roughly translates to “vital energy” or “lifeforce.” The first colorway of the low-profile slipper is a black and white mix with soft fabric on the upper and a cloth and knot closure system, complete with a faux pearl replacing the top knot. An espadrille stitched sole underfoot connects the shoe to the ground like a traditional slipper.
After years of collaboration with Nike, CLOT’s move to partner with adidas has produced a constant run of remixed classics and entirely new silhouettes. More than anything, though, Chen has focused on upgrading the adidas Superstar, with jagged soles, dress shoe retooling, mesh construction, and more. In addition to the Qi Flow, CLOT has brought the espadrille sole to pairs of the Samba and Stan Smith.
The CLOT x adidas Qi Flow Black will be released Spring 2026 through adidas, Juice Store, and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail prices are still TBD.
