Designer Grace Wales Bonner’s eponymous fashion label has been working in partnership with adidas since 2020, and over the last five years, the London-based label has released hit collection after hit collection. The latest Wales Bonner x adidas capsule collection dips back into The Three Stripes archive to pay tribute to Hall of Fame hooper and humanitarian Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The Wales Bonner x adidas Jabbar Collection features a Lakers-friendly colorway of the classic half-shell toe adidas Jabbar alongside a curated clothing collection. Apparel pieces include a tank top and a track jacket, all tied together with a graphic featuring Jabbar’s famous skyhook. The Jabbar Low from the capsule is drenched in deep purple premium suede with croc skin stripes on the side, two white on the outside, and one golden yellow in the middle to complete the Lakers colorway. The half-shell toe and sole are both off-white, with a Wales Bonner logo hit featured in gold on the lateral heel as well as a custom tongue logo in gold featuring Jabbar’s skyhook silhouette. The skyhook graphic is also featured on the leather insole.

Wales Bonner and adidas have been twisting up models from earlier eras into modern collections for years now, bringing unique materials to the Superstar and Samba and dipping into running shoes from past decades. The Jabbar silhouette has seen a significant resurgence this year, including collab colorways from Willy Chavarria, BSTN, Fear of God, and Footpatrol.
