Sometimes the collab is too organic to keep in the cut as a friends and family release. After beloved Bay Area underground rapper Larry June stepped out in a green and orange adidas Control 5 collab and a Rod Laver colorway earlier this year, speculation has been swirling about the smooth wordsmith’s Three Stripes deal, and now, we’ve finally got a new collab that’s ready for retail shelves.
The Larry June x adidas Adistar Control 5 takes some details from Larry’s F&F collab pair, but switches it up with a gradient color combo that moves from Solar green to Lucid Red underneath a coat of white mesh, with more green, orange, and brown accents throughout. Of course, you know Larry had to bring some organic smoothie energy to the table.
Starting with a tan toe bumper and tan support paneling on the lateral side of the toe, the matching supports on the medial side switch to a rich brown shade to match the top of the tongue and the outsole. The side panel Stripe logos are orange with green in the middle to match the green sockliner and orange laces, while the entire upper is covered in white mesh on top of the gradient fabric that goes from red at the toe to green at the heel. Finally, a Larry June logo on the tongue tag brings it all together. Good job, Larry.
The Larry June x adidas Adistar Control 5 will be released Summer 2026 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160. To keep up with all the latest adidas rapper collab news, download the Sole Retriever App.
