Summer on the East Coast is all about getting in the street and celebrating, be it the 4th of July or this year’s World Cup, you can expect plenty of fireworks and public drinks over the next few months. In New York and New Jersey, Puerto Rican Day Parades are some of the most fun days the summer has, bringing communities together for food, drinks, dancing, and, of course, fashion.
The Sneaker Room x adidas Adistar Control 5 Puerto Rico is a tribute to the island, arriving just in time for the beach heat. We got a look at the shoe in an on-site editorial shoot produced across Puerto Rico, and now, with Sneaker Room kicking off the shoe’s early debut tomorrow in PR, we’ve got a closer look at the colorway and its insane details and accessories.

Zach Harris is a writer based in Philadelphia. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Vice, Complex, High Times, and more. He is obsessed with skateboarding and bowling. He is still looking for his first 300. For tips, reviews, and anything in size 10.5 - zach.h@soleretriever.com

The Sneaker Room collab colorway is an instantly recognizable tribute to the island, bringing together red, white, and blue to rep the Puerto Rican flag. On the toe, a hit of shiny metallic silver and baby blue starts things off, while a deep blue mesh covers the base of the shoe, white paneling makes up the structure, and red accents are added to the Three Stripes branding. PR logos are added to the tongues, a frog graphic is featured subtly on the outsole, and in addition to three colors of laces, early seeding packs have touched down with a packet of patches and a map of Puerto Rico.
Sneaker Room will celebrate its adidas Adistar Control 5 Puerto Rico on May 16, 2026, through a special event in Puerto Rico. A wider release via Sneaker Room’s site will come on May 30. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is still TBD. For all the latest adidas collab news, download the Sole Retriever App.
