Salehe’s new sneakers finally have a name. After years of making a name for himself working with everyone from Yeezy to Crocs to Puma and nearly everywhere in between, designer Salehe Bembury has spent the past few months previewing his own endeavor, an independent sneaker line under his Spunge brand. Now, after months of hinting, Bembury is ready to drop the first pairs.
The first silhouette from Bembury’s indie sneaker line is called the Spunge Osmosis, and as previously expected, it will launch in four debut colorways: Yukon, Mung, Malawi, and Slaw. We have seen all four of the colorways in Instagram posts from Bembury, but we now have full tech specs on the runners, too. Using a proprietary “Squish Tech” foam, the Osmosis features a “full-length caged foam footbed with a padded, stable and resilient ride for everyday use.” The shoes feature an upper made of rip-stop and mesh fabrics, with a moisture-wicking lining, and rubber outsoles made to withstand any active lifestyle.
“For 15 years, I’ve worked across every corner of the footwear industry; learning, observing, absorbing,” Bembury wrote in an Instagram post announcing the Spunge drop. “Each chapter taught me something different, how shoes are made, how brands are built, and how culture moves. SPUNGE is the result of it all. Everything I’ve taken in, finally expressed in my own language. This brand exists to create the kind of freedom I was always searching for. A space to explore, experiment, and evolve. A shoe to do stuff in.”
The Spunge Osmosis will be released October 13, 2025 through a drawing that is now open at Bembury’s Be a Spunge webstore. After the initial drawing, the shoe will be released at launch events for the brand, held at Dover Street Market London, Kith NYC, A Ma Maniere Atlanta, and ComplexCon Las Vegas. The global retail launch of Spunge will follow on November 15th. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
