Keeping up with your favorite athlete or celebrity has never been easier. Just find their social media, follow their podcast, watch their YouTube videos, hell, text them with an automated service, and you’ll be able to know their every move. Things were not so simple in the dark days of the pre-internet era; you’d have to send a letter to a fan club and wait for follow-ups in the mail. For fans of Michael Jordan, there was the Flight Club, which offered fans exclusive MJ merch during the ‘80s and ‘90s. It’s now defunct, of course, but Jordan Brand has been revisiting this almost-forgotten piece of Jordan lore with new Air Jordan colorways. Following the Air Jordan 4 Flight Club from earlier in the year, Jordan Brand is bringing the theme to Mike’s first sneaker, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG.
Where the AJ 4 Flight Club opted for a white upper accented by black details, the AJ 1 High Flight Club flips the script, using black details on the majority of the design. Black corduroy is applied to the mudguard, eyelets, Swoosh, collar overlay, and heel overlay, all of which is stitched on using a contrasting white thread.
More shades of white are found on the lace set and tongue, which bursts with university red on the woven Nike Air-branded tongue label. The same red is used for the Air Jordan Wings logo applied to the collar. On the underlays, a black nubuck is used to provide some textural contrast to the corduroy panels. Above the white midsole and gum outsole sits a custom insole, featuring old graphics of MJ and the Jordan Flight Club logo.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Flight Club will be released April 11, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price is set at $185 (men), $140 (GS), $85 (PS), and $70 (TD).
