The idea of a fan club may seem foreign today considering the unprecedented direct access to anyone and everyone online, but before the advent of the internet, it was quite common for celebrities and athletes to have one. You’d send your information to a mailing list and receive newsletters, exclusive merch, and updates on your favorite band, athlete, or actor. Michael Jordan even took part in this with the Air Jordan Flight Club, which gave fans access to a biannual newsletter, exclusive Jordan Flight Club apparel, a membership card, a poster, and even an autographed photo of MJ. Next year, Jordan Brand will bring back the long-lost Jordan fan club with a special colorway of the Air Jordan 4 Retro.
Now, this pair might seem a bit familiar to many of you (us included). The sail and black color palette and even the colorblocking are nearly identical to one of the hottest Air Jordan 4 releases of the decade, the Air Jordan 4 Military Black. Just like its distant cousin, the Jordan 4 Flight Club uses a white-shaded leather on most of the upper with grey suede on the toe and accenting hits of black on the heel tab, portions of the midsole, outsole, and the wing eyelets. Where the pair differs is the sail mesh backing the sail netting on the tongue and midfoot and the updated branding details on the tongue and heel tab.
Instead of a Jumpman, which is typically reserved for non-OG colorways and was used on the Military Black, the AJ 4 Flight Club adds black Nike Air text with red trim to the heel. On the tongue and insole sits the Jordan Flight Club logo, with the latter also featuring a graphic depicting the various posters made for the fan club. Down below sits a white and black midsole with a visible Air in the heel and a tonal black and white outsole.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro Flight Club will be released Spring 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price is set at $220 (men), $160 (GS), $100 (PS), and $85 (TD).
