adidas Signs College Football Star Jeremiah Smith
Published
adidas continues to build its powerhouse roster of football talent, announcing today the signing of standout wide receiver Jeremiah Smith — one of the biggest names in college football — to its growing family of student-athlete partners.
Smith has quickly become a household name among Buckeye Nation and beyond. In a spectacular freshman season at Ohio State University, he racked up 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns, helping secure a National Championship for the Buckeyes. Along the way, he shattered records, picked up first-team All-America honors from USA Today, and was recognized as the Big Ten’s Richter-Howard Wide Receiver of the Year and the Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year.
For Smith, this partnership marks a full-circle moment. “One of the most memorable moments from last season was losing my black stripe and officially becoming a Buckeye,” Smith said. “Fast forward a year and I’m blessed to be adding three, joining the fastest brand in football. It’s crazy to be partnering with a brand that has such a talented roster of players and that I’ve been wearing since I was a young kid. We’re not done yet.”

Smith’s addition highlights adidas’ strategy to align with the game’s next generation of playmakers — athletes redefining the limits of college football. He’ll soon star in various brand campaigns, including an upcoming launch alongside one of the nation’s most exciting young female athletes.
“We’re building a roster of collegiate athletes that are writing new chapters, creating legacies, and shattering records for their programs and universities,” said Chris McGuire, adidas Vice President of Sports Marketing. “As the face of the next generation of elite football players, Jeremiah has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the game, making him a perfect fit for our roster of athletes.”

With Smith, adidas deepens its connection to Ohio State’s football pipeline, joining fellow Buckeyes Emeka Egbuka and Garrett Wilson, as well as NIL standouts Chris Henry Jr. and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, both of whom have committed to wear scarlet and grey.
Already home to stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Hunter, Trevor Lawrence, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, adidas Football just got even stronger — and with Smith in the fold, the brand’s future looks as explosive as his route running.
