In a sneaker and streetwear industry full of business owners, designers, artists, and professional cool guys trying their hardest to shape culture, few carry the authentic influence of Atiba Jefferson. A staff photographer at Thrasher magazine, longtime photographer at Slam magazine, album cover artist for Turnstile and Bad Brains, Supreme family member, and close personal friend of Devin Booker and Tim Robinson, Atiba is a renaissance man of the modern era. He’s also a Brand Curator at Vans, with his first collaborative capsule collection hitting shelves soon.

The first images from the Atiba x Vans pack showcase a bright, monochrome orange Old Skool 36+. Safety orange on every inch of the sneaker, the Atiba Old Skool 36+ is skate-ready with suede panels on the toebox, lace protection, and ollie panels, a PopCush insole for extra comfort, and an extra-padded fuzzy sock liner. Atiba’s touch can be found on the starred Vans logo on the heel panel and insoles featuring Atiba’s name and iconic vintage pictures of skate legend and Vans team rider John Cardiel 50-50ing a rail.
Jefferson was announced as a Vans Brand Curator late last year. The curator job was created as a part of the Vans’ Always Pushing initiative and tasks the famed photographer with pushing the brand’s skate presence to the next level. In addition to the Old Skool 36+, the first Atiba x Vans collection will also feature another pair of Old Skool 36+ in black and green, an all-white Half Cab, a green Curren Caples signature shoe, and a Wayvee 2.0 in grey.
The Atiba Jefferson x Vans Old Skool 36+ Orange will be released on September 25, 2025 at select Vans retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the price is set at $85.
