Nike Channels Cherry Blossom Season for DMV Air Max Goadome Boot Colorway

The DC sneaker scene is having a moment. After a friends & family Nike Air Max Goadome Boot drop from Wale to support his new album, “everything is a lot,” Beaverton went all-out for the rapper with a debut collab drop of the Nike GT Future that spurred long lines and sold out immediately. Now, the Swoosh is keeping the DMV (that’s DC, Maryland, Virginia, not the Department of Motor Vehicles) at the top of mind, with a Goadome boot dedicated to the metro that made the silhouette a part of the local culture.

The Nike Air Max Goadome DMV, like last year’s DMV Foamposite, pays tribute to the annual cherry blossoms that take over the nation's capital every spring. The shoe is covered in a full coat of monochrome leather in a sweet beet shade, right down to the laces and eyelets. DMV branding is featured on the back of the boot, with the letters running vertically down the heel, and cherry blossom imagery is added to the insoles for more local flavor. The sole is black for a bit of contrast, but the Air Max units in the heel remain see-through clear.

Long considered a silhouette for security guards and school kids in cold climates with uniform requirements, the DMV made the Goadome, aka the Nike Boot, into a cultural staple for the winter, trading in New York’s obsession with Timbs for a dedication to the black leather all-weather Air Maxes. The DC Nike Boot love was supercharged thanks to Wale’s 2009 mixtape hit and local anthem, “Nike Boots.” This pair really is flier than the rest of them.

The Nike Air Max Goadome DMV will be released Spring 2026, just in time for the DC Cherry Blossom Festival, through Nike and select retailers in-store and online.
