Even with retro silhouettes from the ‘80s falling out of favor with the public, the Air Max 1 has remained a steady part of the Nike release calendar. Tinker Hatfield's genius design that gave us visible Air units for the first time has appeared in a variety of new makeups for the Spring 2025 season, including a three-pack of Valentine’s Day colors, a Bold Berry iteration, and a Year of the Snake-adjacent Snakeskin rendition. Now, a premium rendition of the model has appeared in an earthy Light Orewood Brown Burgundy Crush.
Not only does the color palette help elevate the humble Air Max 1, but the material makeup is also used in this rendition. Premium suede lands on the mudguard in a light tan shade, while a woven knit base takes on a cream color scheme on the toebox, tongue, and collar. Above this sits a tonal tan suede on the midfoot and vamp that contrasts the darker, fuzzy suede heel panel.

The Swoosh opts for a look that matches the mudguard's material choice and color scheme, while the sockliner and TPU eyelets help break up the tan party with a burgundy crush finish. A third instance of this wine-red hue is on the heel tab, with the Nike Air embroidery taking on this shade. Finishing the sneaker is the cream foam midsole with a burgundy crush-shaded Air unit in the heel paired with a burgundy crush rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Light Orewood Brown Burgundy Crush will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
