Tinker Hatfield blessed the world with visible Air cushioning thanks to the Air Max 1’s release in 1987, ushering in a technology that would define Nike today. Even decades removed from the original release, the Air Max 1 still holds a special place in Nike’s release calendar as new colors hit shelves monthly. For Spring 2025, the model is getting a Bold Berry makeover that features a detail many adore on an Air Max 1.
While the traditional colorblocking and material makeup of the Air Max 1 remains on this women’s exclusive colorway, adding a mini Swoosh embroidered onto the lateral toe sets it apart from your regular AM1 release. The titular hue lands along the suede mudguard and Swoosh, while the mesh base takes on a white finish near the toe, midfoot, and collar. Grey felt suede appears on the vamp, midfoot, and heel, with Nike Air embroidered within the grey suede.
White laces match the tongue, allowing the Nike Air logo and plastic TPU eyelets to shine in bold berry. The sneaker continues its tri-color white, grey, and bold berry combo, with a grey sockliner, purple insole, and white Nike Air branding. Finishing off the look is the Air Max 1 midsole in white, featuring a visible Air unit in the heel, paired with a black, white, and bold berry outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Bold Berry W will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
