Over the Nike Dunk’s 40-year history (it's celebrating this birthday in 2025), we’ve seen Nike give the sneaker countless makeovers. Not only have these been with new color schemes, but new iterations have changed the construction and material makeup of the sneaker. The next update to the Dunk features a Gore-Tex construction.
Not the first time the weather-resistant material has made its mark on the Dunk, as seen on the Dunk High 1 Piece and the Medicom Dunk Low, this new Light Crimson colorway marks the first Gore-Tex Dunk since the latter of the two previous releases hit shelves back in 2008. This is apparent thanks to the multiple hits of Gore-Tex branding on the upper, including a debossed logo on the lateral toebox and the iconic Gore-Tex tag hanging on the 3D synthetic Swoosh. Adding to the utilitarian makeover, the toebox no longer comes with perforations but instead features a debossed pattern on the vamp to prevent water from entering the toe.
