Retro hoop shoes have fallen out of favor compared to the comfort-focused mesh runners that dominate the footwear space today. Still, there’s a place for basketball shoes from years past in the sneaker game. Just look at the Huarache 2K4, the 2004 Nike Basketball sneaker worn by Kobe Bryant before his first Nike signature sneaker hit the market. After enjoying a nice retro run, including Sue Bird and Penny Hardaway PEs, the All-Star rendition, and more, a brand-new colorway of the model is hitting shelves this fall.
Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 UCLA Details
The Eric Avar-designed silhouette is rendered primarily in white, with the UCLA Bruins’ blue and yellow used to accent the crisp leather upper. Pops of blue appear on the toecap, heel overlay, and on the Huarache 2K4-branded tongue label. A two-tone blue and yellow tab is added to the end of the lockdown strap, which rests above the white lace set.
The Huarache logo is debossed on the lateral heel, while a white-on-white Nike Swoosh is stitched onto the leather midfoot panel. Down below sits a blue and yellow Phylon midsole, which contains the Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot, as well as the carbon fiber midfoot shank. Finishing the sneaker is the white, yellow, and blue rubber outsole.

The Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 UCLA will be released Holiday 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190.
