New Balance has not been afraid to venture into new territory, as seen with the slew of recently revealed silhouettes like the ABZORB 2000. The model, designed by veteran NB employee Charlotte Lee, harkens back to the Y2K era of viz-tech sneaker, something that New Balance has not traditionally been known for. So far, the color palettes chosen for the sneaker also lean into the early 2000s, which were defined by glossy, semi-translucent plastics and vibrant pops of color. Following the launch of the recent Black Grey and White Grey color schemes, the model has appeared in a Rose Sugar colorway.
The one-piece mesh construction features a gradient pink color, transitioning from a saturated deep pink shade near the bottom portion into a light pink, almost cream shade as you move toward the center. Screenprinted overlays wrap around the toe and collar of the upper, coming in a light cream interspersed with hits of white and grey in a techy design pattern.

Metallic silver hits the large N logo on the lateral midfoot, which is outlined in a mixture of pink and white, while the NB logos on the tongue and heel also opt for this futuristic finish. Completing the upper are solid white hits on the tongue, lace set, and sockliner. Down below sits a pink foam midsole with a silver-grey TPU stability shank in the midfoot, full-length ABZORB SBS pods in a glossy rose gold finish, burgundy hits below these pods, and a black and grey rubber outsole.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 Rose Sugar will release sometime in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
