New Balance’s knack for reviving archival sneakers is evident in the success of the New Balance 1000. Originally released in 1999, the once-performance runner has found new life as the Boston-based brand has reissued the sneaker in modern color palettes through collaborations and inline releases. Harkening back to this Y2K era of sneakers, the 1000 was recently spotted in a Pink Metallic Silver and Metallic Silver Ice Wine, with yet another metallic-based colorway appearing with blue accents.
Like the two aforementioned colorways, this Silver Blue color scheme features a metallic leather construction on its overlays in a split color palette. The bottom half over the overlays, seen on the toe, midfoot, and heel, is metallic blue, while the top half, including the eyelets and tongue overlay, is metallic silver. Beneath this sits a black mesh base, allowing the white N logo on the midfoot to shine amongst the rest of the upper.

Black laces contrast the metallic silver mesh tongue and the blue New Balance 1000 branding along the tongue tag. More black details are found on the 1000 text near the lateral toe, the sockliner, and the collar. The dark grey Abzorb-cushioned midsole finishes the design with metallic blue accents on the heel and forefoot, paired with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1000 Silver Blue has already been released overseas via New Balance China but will drop in the US and globally later in 2025. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
