New Balance’s ascension in the sneaker world is evident through anecdotal experience and hard numbers, as reports have emerged that the Boston-based footwear brand reached a new sales record of $7.8 billion in 2024. Part of this success can be attributed to the success of archival models, with 2024 presenting us with a comeback of the New Balance 1000. Going into the new year, we can expect dozens of colorways for the sneaker to hit shelves, including a Metallic Silver Ice Wine.
Like the recently-revealed Pink Metallic Silver iteration, this pair opts for a two-tone look for its metallic leather overlays, applying dark ice wine hues to the toecap, bottom midfoot, and heel overlays. Below this sits a black mesh base, which allows the metallic silver leather panels on the top half of the sneaker to shine through. Another pop of metallic silver appears on the mesh of the tongue, which is again contrasted by black hits on the lace set and nylon lace loops.

As for branding details, New Balance retains the usual N logo on the midfoot, giving it a two-tone white and black finish—the 1000 text on the tongue, toe, and heel swaps between black and dark ice wine. Down below, the sneaker has a dark grey foam midsole and a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1000 Metallic Silver Ice Wine is available overseas through New Balance and select retailers but will hit the US on February 1, 2025. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
