While Halloween is taking over Nike Basketball, Jordan Brand is leaning into the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos with a collection of kicks. So far, we’ve only seen an Air Jordan 1 Mid SE that continues the yearly tradition of Jordan models themed after the Day of the Dead, but now an Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG for the occasion has emerged.
Following up on last year's Air Jordan 4 for Día de los Muertos, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Somos Historias tells the story of the Xoloitzcuintli, also known as the Xolo, a breed of hairless dogs revered in Mexico during the holiday. The story is spelled out explicitly on the inside lid of the special packaging, reading, “In this family, no one files alone. Zolo walks with us in life as a loyal companion and guides our spirits in death as we rise again. Through Dia de Muertos, we honor those who lead our path and light our flight. The family, the souls, the friends, the dogs. This story begins with companionship, move through myth, and ends in the purest form of flight — the soul.”

To bring Xolo into sneaker form, Jordan Brand gives the AJ 1 Low OG a primarily brown makeover, using nubuck panels in chocolate on the toe, lower eyestays, and heel. These panels feature spots throughout, with hairy suede (which doesn’t align with the Xoloitzcuintli as they’re a hairless breed) used on the upper eyestays and heel. Teal accents pop on the trim of the upgraded Swoosh, the Nike Air logo on the tongue, and the mini Swoosh on the vamp. Inside, the tongue features a teal Jumpman inside a depiction of a Xolo, with each pair numbered out of 5,026 below. Finishing the shoe is the brown midsole and the teal semi-translucent outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Somo Historias is slated to release October 13, 2026 through Nike SNKRS in Mexico. No word on a wider release, but considering last year’s AJ 4 was limited to Mexico, this pair will likely not receive a global release. Retail is set at $3,799 MXN (approx $206 USD).
