Salehe Bembury’s time at Crocs will be best remembered for the Pollex Clog, a reimagining of the Crocs Classic Clog with Salehe’s fingerprints all over it, literally. The thumbprint sole design became a trademark of Bembury’s work at Crocs and continues to show up as an influence in new work with his own brand, Spunge. Bembury isn’t done with Crocs quite yet, though, and his latest shoe brings back the Cypress boot in an earthy fall colorway.
A duck boot-inspired silhouette with a molded thumbprint sole reminiscent of the Pollex Clog, the Cypress is a clear extension of Bembury’s aesthetic onto a winter boot. From the top down, the ankle features tough brown canvas, with a blue rubber duck boot upper for weatherproof walking, and a tan Pollex sole that sits underneath and wraps up to the side panels, where it meets the navy blue rubber. White stitching on the brown canvas adds a bit of contrast, and a green Cypress logo on the tongue brings the only hint of outside color.
