Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is both the face of Converse basketball and the label’s creative director, and taking on those roles at a company with such a storied history on the hardwood comes with benefits. Outside of putting his name next to Magic, Bird, D Wade, and more in the rafters at the Massachusetts-based brand, SGA has the opportunity to put his twist on Converse’s legendary basketball and lifestyle archive. Continuing his collection of mirror-image signature colorways on high-top Chucks, Gilgeous-Alexander’s latest throwback is a red and green replica of his Winter Red Shai 001.
The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander x Converse Chuck Taylor 70 Winter Red features a full red suede upper, mimicking the upcoming colorway on the zip-up pro model. The green hits are added on the medial side All-Star patch and the license plate heel, just like the color on the zipper and logos of the Winter Red Shai 001. The Chuck 70 version features a white midsole with red foxing stripes, red laces, and classic silver eyelets.
This is the fourth SGA x Converse Chuck 70 made to match his Shai 001 colorways. The first three matching pairs followed the family-focused Charm Black, Masi Blue, and Hail Clay colorways in their own monochrome suede makeup.
The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander x Converse Chuck Taylor 70 Winter Red will be released December 11, 2025, the same day as the Shai 001 Winter Red, through Converse and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $75. To stay up on all the latest SGA Converse news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
