Asics Release Dates
Asics was founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka, who began by producing basketball shoes. The name Asics is an acronym for the Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," meaning "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."
