Asics is taking a trip overseas to hit a high note. Amidst a particularly strong year of collabs, Asics’ latest partnership enters the world of music, teaming up with singer/songwriter Griff for a pair of Gel-Cumulus 16 in a simple, stripped-down black and grey colorway with frilly accents on the tongue and toe.
The Griff x Asics Gel-Cumulus 16 was announced in a joint post by the British artist and the Japanese sportswear brand, featuring a micro music video highlighting the collab colorway. Alongside Griff’s performance, vocals, and style, the caption brings together the idea behind the partnership with the line, “Style in every step, creativity in every move.”
On the Gel-Cumulus collab, Griff starts with a lowkey blend of textured grey, subtle reptile print, and slick black patent on the base and support structure. From there, the collab adds a personalized touch with black elastic frill lining the vamp, tongue label, and heel stabilizer. Finally, an alternate set of ballet-style wide white laces stretches up to the ankle for an extended-tie look.
The Griff x Asics Gel-Cumulus 16 will be released June 12, 2026 through Asics and select retailers in-store and online. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is still TBD. For all the latest Asics collab news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
