2025 marks the 25th birthday of UK-based retailer size? To celebrate, they’ve been launching many exclusive projects with adidas. So far, the famed City Series has tackled Dublin, Shanghai, Liverpool, and Sapporo. Now, fifteen years after its original release, adidas and the UK retailer are bringing Birmingham back into the spotlight with a new edition of the adidas Birmingham.
Unlike its 2010 predecessor, which paid homage to Birmingham’s chocolate-making legacy with plush purple suede and creamy accents, the 2025 model is a tribute to the West Midlands city’s rebellious soul, rich history, and heavy metal roots. All-black leather dominates the upper, channeling the raw, industrial power that once defined the city during the height of the Industrial Revolution. Think factory floors, forged steel, and sweat-soaked underground venues.
Serrated pink leather 3-Stripes slash across the sidewalls, reminiscent of the rebellious edge and vibrant energy that birthed heavy metal in the late ’60s. The look is finished with gritty rubber soles, a gold foil Birmingham wordmark in the same swirling font as the original, and 1/2025 on the heel, denoting the pair is limited to 2,025 pairs.
The adidas Birmingham Anniversary City Series will launch in-store exclusively at size? Birmingham on June 28, 2025. An online raffle draw will open June 29 and close July 4, 2025. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is £115 (approximately $160 USD).
