This Friday, the 2025 Ryder Cup will officially tee off. The biennial golf tournament pits teams from Europe and the United States against one another, but we’re not focused on the action on the green here at Sole Retriever. We’re more interested in what's on the feet of the pros participating in the tournament. Ahead of the first tee time, Jordan Brand has cooked up player-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Lows for Team USA captain Keegan Bradley and Team Europe captain Luke Donald.

Both pairs of these player-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Low Golfs have patent leather uppers in country colors. Team USA’s obviously sports red, white, and blue, with red applied to the patent leather mudguard, eyestays, collar, and heel. White contrasts this on the midfoot panel, toebox, laces, and the Ryder Cup logo atop the tongue.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to represent the greatest country in the world and walk the course in Jordans - a symbol of greatness,” said Keegan. “There’s no denying the grit and dawg mentality that MJ embodied as he led his team to multiple victories and there’s no question we’re bringing that same energy this week as we look to take home the trophy.”

Moving over to Europe's pair, the colorway features blue and yellow hues to represent the EU’s flag. The same added details are present here, with the left shoe featuring the 2025 Ryder Cup logo. Both the US and EU pairs come with an outsole graphic depicting the Statue of Liberty.

“The Ryder Cup is one of the most special sporting events in the world, so it’s an honour to both serve as the European Captain and wear the Jumpman this week,” said Donald. “Michael [Jordan] has built an amazing brand defined by greatness and it’s not lost on me that he had many special moments playing visitor in New York. This week, I hope to bring that same inner-greatness and lead the team to back to back victories.”

While Jordan Brand made a name for itself with performance basketball offerings and is still looked at as a basketball-first label, it’s continued to expand its presence in the world of golf. Starting in 2015 with the Air Jordan 6, multiple retro Air Jordans have been converted for the greens, including the AJ 1, 4, 5, 9, and 14. The label has also introduced its own inline golf sneakers, recently dropping the Air Rev and launching the ADG 5.
