Zion Williamson’s Signature Sneaker Line with Jordan Brand is Coming to an End
PublishedQuick Facts
- Zion Williamson's signature sneaker line is coming to end
- Jordan Brand will not release another Jordan Zion model following the Zion 4, which released last year
- As of now, Williamson is still a Jordan athlete, but his contract is set to expire this year

While Zion Williamson was drawing comparisons to LeBron James ahead of his NBA debut in 2019, things haven’t exactly panned out the way he would have liked. Still, he’s shown plenty of promise when he is able to take the court for the Pelicans, and at just 25 years old, he’s got tons of time to turn his career around. Unfortunately, he’ll have to go forward without a signature sneaker line as Jordan Brand plans to sunset the Jordan Zion line following the Zion 4.
According to multiple independent sources, Sole Retriever can exclusively report that Jordan Brand has no plans to release another Jordan Zion model after the Jordan Zion 4. Zion signed one of the largest rookie contracts in the sneaker endorsement world, with his seven-year, $75 million deal making headlines in 2019 before he even stepped foot on an NBA court. There has been no news or reports of Zion signing an extension with Jordan Brand to this point, meaning his contract is up this year.
While we do know that Zion Williamson is no longer a signature athlete with Jordan, that doesn’t mean he’s a sneaker free agent just yet. Until his contract is officially up with Jordan Brand, he will remain an athlete on the Jordan roster, and the two may reach an extension that keeps Zion as a member of the Jordan family.

His first signature model launched in 2021 to much fanfare, and the follow-up, the Jordan Zion 2 in 2022, was even more loved thanks to its collaborations with Naruto. Jordan Brand launched the Zion 3 in September 2023, but we wouldn’t get a fourth model until January 2025. Unlike previous models, the Zion 4 launched with little marketing from the label, and additional colorways dropped with virtually no push from Jordan. The writing was clearly on the wall for his signature line to come to an end, not only based on the performance of the sneaker itself and the brand’s lack of marketing, but also by his on-court output.
Since entering the league in 2019, he’s missed 211 games, with the Pelicans having played a total of 456 in that time span. That’s 48% of his career on the sidelines. Not the best look from the number one overall pick and the man Jordan Brand expected to be the face of the company. Still, his lifestyle collabs and PEs on the Jordan 1 Low have been well received by the sneaker community, with both the original Voodoo Jordan 1 and the purple variant garnering major premiums on the aftermarket.

The Jordan signature roster is still home to two of the brightest stars in the league, with Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic leading the charge. Tatum is expected to have his next signature model release by the end of 2026, and Luka just debuted his fifth signature model, the Jordan Luka 5, only a few weeks ago. Outside of signature athletes, Jordan is also home to talent like Paolo Banchero, who continues to receive player-exclusive colorways of Jordan sneakers.
There is at least one more Jordan Zion 4 expected to hit the market, a new Tropical Teal colorway, but after that, the silhouette and Williamson’s signature line will sunset. Will Zion sign an extension with the brand in the coming months as his contract expires? Does Zion go the Steph Curry route and test out different brands as a sneaker free agent? Only time will tell.
