The shoe encapsulates Williamson's mantra of having made it "out of the mud," representing his relentless hard work to rise from humble beginnings to NBA stardom.

A masterclass in technical precision and personal storytelling, the Jordan Zion 3 is designed specifically for Williamson’s blitz-like combination of strength and speed. This is achieved through a unique three-fold focus on containment, court feel, and impact protection. The shoe incorporates a drop-in midsole comprising Formula 23 foam and a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, ensuring responsive cushioning for explosive movements.

The shoe's design is particularly noteworthy for its low stack height, the lowest for any of Williamson's signature sneakers. This facilitates optimal ground control, assisting the player in intricate maneuvers like swift spins off the low block. Zion’s “Z” logo is embossed in a raised TPU material, enhancing lateral containment.

The upper reflects Zion’s journey, featuring a color splatter produced using 3D imaging of Zion’s foot splashing through mud. More than just an artistic touch, the upper is strategically reinforced to contain the foot during intense lateral movements through these TPU pieces.

Williamson expressed his feelings about the Zion 3, saying, "This is crazy. It still doesn’t feel real that I have a signature shoe, and here we are with Jordan Brand on my third one. The Zion 3 not only tells my story of making it out the mud, but it is one that I believe many basketball players out there will like because of its low-to-the-ground feel and incredible cushioning."

The Jordan Zion 3 will release in the “Sanctuary” color exclusively in North America in September, with the "Mud, Sweat, and Tears" colorway launching globally in October, "Fresh Paint" in November, and "Black White" in December through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers.
