Korean Streetwear Brand Thug Club Turns the Converse Chuck 70 into a Motorcycle Boot

When you hear about a new sneaker collab from Korean streetwear brand Thug Club, you know you’re going to get something tough, motorcycle-ready, and futuristic in a dystopian Blade Runner sense. In the brand’s first partnership with Converse, that’s exactly what we got, with a pack of reimagined Chuck 70s with platform soles, an extra-high flared ankle, and enough straps to keep your foot secure on even the fastest crotch rockets.

The Thug Club x Converse Chuck 70 Pack features two colorways of the retooled All-Star silhouette, one in triple-white leather and the other in black leather with grey accents on the Velcro forefoot and ankle straps. From the ground up, the classic vulcanized Chuck Taylor sole gets the platform treatment for a little added height, with the words “Anonymous Club” repeating all the way around the shoe on the foxing tape.

On the upper, the toe cap and paneling remain largely traditional, but with a slight shape change at the heel and ankle, adding a bit of a concave aesthetic to the heel that creates a wider opening at the top of the shoe. The back ankle collar rises a couple of inches above the top of the tongue, with eyelets added all the way up for a bit of aesthetic elevation. The straps draw the eye right away, with two smaller straps just above the toe and a large strap at the top of the ankle, bringing out the most in the custom design.
